Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, The School District of Oconee County (SDOC) spans almost 800 square miles of scenic landscape, serving the towns of Fairplay, Long Creek, Salem, Seneca, Tamassee, Townville, Walhalla, Westminster, and West Union, all of which comprise the county of Oconee in the "Golden Corner" of South Carolina. Serving approximately 10,100 students in three attendance zones, our district includes:

  • Our district offers students ample opportunities in both the visual and performing arts at all levels. 

    Each elementary school is staffed with both a visual art and performing arts teachers; elementary students attend both classes weekly. 

    Middle schools offer students elective classes in both the visual and performing arts as well as additional opportunities to participate in competitions and festivals at the local, regional and state level.

    High schools offer students classes in visual and performing arts, both music and theater, as well as additional opportunities to participate in competitions and festivals at the local, regional and state level.
