Electronic Flyer Distribution
Community Flyer Distribution
The district makes approved information available electronically through ParentSquare. If approved, your flyer will be included in our weekly ParentSquare newsletter that includes community events.
How is a flyer approved?
SDOC allows approved information or brochures from nonprofit and other community organizations, providing their materials meet our standards and are pre-approved by the Associate Superintendent of Administration. We do not approve flyers about fundraising efforts.
No commercial publications will be posted or distributed unless their purpose is to further a school activity, such as graduation, class pictures or class rings or to offer a pre-approved enrichment opportunity to our students.
What flyers meet the district’s criteria?
- Programs or events held within Oconee County
- Activities that benefit students, encourage physical activity, help develop character, etc.
- Programs or events that are youth-related or related to youth education
- Flyers that pertain to activities of the community recreation programs
- Flyers contain school names only as part of the location information for events held at schools and in no way implies the event is endorsed by the school or district;
- Flyers do not disrupt the educational process, violate the rights of others, including material that is defamatory, invade the privacy of others, infringe on a copyright, or are obscene, vulgar or indecent.
SDOC reserves the right to disallow a flyer for posting if it feels it is not in the best interest of children and their families.
