The School District of Oconee County "Gold Card" program allows for county residents,  65 years old and older,  to attend athletic events for free with the following restrictions:

• The pass may not be used for pre-season jamborees, post-season playoffs or some tournaments
• The pass may only be used by the person to whom it is issued and is non-transferrable
• In rare cases, a school may limit the use of a pass for cost-effectiveness reasons
• The pass may be revoked if used improperly

Oconee County residents, age 65 and older, can acquire a Gold Card at the SDOC District Office located at 414 South Pine Street, Walhalla, SC  29691.  Residents must show a photo ID indicating their residence and date of birth to receive a card. The Gold Card does not expire and is good from year to year.

The school districts of Oconee County, Pickens County, and Greenville County have agreed to honor each other's senior citizen resident passes allowing free admission at athletic events. Under the agreement, Oconee County seniors will be able to support their teams at away games in Greenville or Pickens counties for free as well.

SDOC Volunteer Information

SDOC provides a tool that identifies what schools a particular address is zoned to attend.  You may locate the schools for any property address within Oconee County.

Financial donations to the district can be made by check payable to the School District of Oconee County. The check should be mailed to the district office with instructions as to how the donor would like the district to use the funds.
