The Goal of Mentor Oconee is to facilitate healthy and sustainable relationships between students and adults in our community
Role & Commitment
Mentors pursue an intentional friendship with a student at a local school in an effort to influence positive behavior meeting with a student 30 minutes once a week during lunch or breakfast for the school year.

The Benefits
Students with a consistent role model have statistically shown improvements in academic performance and school attendance, a decrease in disciplinary issues, and tend to display an overall more positive attitude about life, school and future choices.

ATTEND A TRAINING
A one-hour training session is designed to inform and equip you with best practices for mentoring. Topics include: what it means to be a mentor, what to expect, and how to best relate to your student.

COMPLETE A BACKGROUND CHECK
Once training is complete, participants will receive an email with a link to complete the background check. There is no cost to the volunteer.
