Once the application is submitted and all 3 references have been returned,
Step 2: Schedule an appointment for a screening interview

Following the screening interview, candidates will receive an email with a link to the required online training and a second email concerning new employee paperwork.
Step 3: Complete the online Substitute Training
(training can be completed at the candidate's own pace.)
After completing the online training,
Step 4: Attend an in-person orientation meeting
At the orientation meeting, candidates will be required to submit new employee paperwork which includes providing a copy of their social security card, a valid driver's license, and proof of a negative TB test conducted within the last year.
Please note: Before substituting, candidates must pass a background check (completed and paid for by SDOC)
