Accreditation
The School District of Oconee County is fully accredited
The South Carolina State Board of Education Regulation 43-300. requires all school districts in the state to go through the accreditation process. Accreditation signifies that the public school district and/or school has met professional standards at an acceptable level and is committed to maintaining those standards. The School District of Oconee County participates under Option 2 of the regulation which allows for the use of an outside accrediting agency for the accreditation process.
Cognia is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that accredits primary and secondary schools throughout the United States and internationally.
