High School Credit VIrtual Course Options
The School District of Oconee County offers students in grades 7-12 the option to take some classes virtually. Classes are facilitated by an SDOC teacher and are only for SDOC students. It is important to understand that these courses do not have a live teaching component; all work is done independently. High school students cannot have a complete virtual schedule; they are required to take at least one class per semester in-person to meet SC Department of Education requirements.
VirtualSDOC provides students the opportunity to participate in virtual, asynchronous, high school credit-bearing courses. School District of Oconee County teachers facilitate courses utilizing standards-aligned course curriculum. More information is available below.
SDOC 9th-12th grade students have the option to take Physical Education virtually. This virtual class is offered asynchronously (students can complete work at times convenient for their schedule) and includes the comprehensive health standards required to graduate. Students should contact their school guidance counselor for more information and to register for SDOC Virtual PE.

Students who are looking to expand their educational options can participate in VirtualSDOC courses. Whether you are looking to graduate early, need room in your schedule to attend Hamilton Career and Technology Center or Dual Enrollment, want to work a part-time job, need to catch up on some credits, or maybe just have a lighter course load .... VirtualSDOC may be right for you!

what Courses Can I possibly take as a high school student?
We have a variety of course options that meet SC High School Graduation requirements. Final determination of course offerings will be based on student requests and teacher allotment. Summer courses are accelerated at an 8 week pace. Summer courses are accelerated at an 8 week pace. Please note, courses that require an EOC will not be available during the summer session.
PE may be taken virtually directly through SDOC. Students should contact their counselor to request to take PE virtually.
What Courses can I possibly take as a middle school student?
Middle school students have a few course options that meet SC High School Graduation requirements. The following courses are being offered for registration. Final determination of course offerings will be based on student requests and teacher allotment. Summer courses are accelerated at an 8 week pace. Please note, courses that require an EOC will not be available during the summer session.
Fall & Spring (7th & 8th Graders) - IT Fundamentals
Summer (Rising 9th graders) - English 1, Family Life Education, Personal Finance, Medical Terminology, Human Geography, Government, Economics, IT Fundamentals, & Sociology (Honors).
Who is eligible to participate?
School District of Oconee County students who are enrolled in grades 7-12 who meet the eligibility requirements, can participate in VirtualSDOC courses.

classes may not be available Every semester. Some classes are available at both The CP and honors level.

What do I do if I want to participate?
If you are interested in participating or obtaining additional information, including eligibility requirements, please call or email your school guidance counselor. If you are eligible to participate, you and your guardian will be required to complete the guardian/student agreement.
