SDOC Choral Clinic - Tuesday, October 4 at Seneca Baptist Church

The School District of Oconee County will present its fifteenth All-County Choral Concert on Tuesday, October 4 at 7:30pm at Seneca Baptist Church in Seneca, South Carolina.

180 middle and high school students selected by their teachers from the Oconee County schools will present a program of choral music under the leadership of Dr. Anthony Bernarducci, Professor at Clemson University. Mrs. Masheila Cobb, music teacher at Seneca High School, will be his accompanist.

Middle school students will perform the following selections: “I Will Lift My Voice and Sing” by Johnson, “The Tiger”, by Porterfield, “In Flanders Fields”, arranged by Jacobson and “Put a Little Love in Your Heart” arranged by Miller.

Middle school choral directors are Mrs. Carla Brock, Mr. Cory Chitwood, and Mr. Christopher Hulsey.

Selections by high school students will include the South Carolina All-State Audition piece “Alleluia” by Pergolesi, an all-male selection entitled “For the Beauty of the Earth” by Rutter, an all-female piece, “Prayer of the Children” arranged by Hayes and “I Sing Because I’m Happy” by Dilworth.

High school choral directors include Mrs. Sherry Collins, Mr. John Fallon, and Ms. Diane McFarlane.

Mrs. Ginger Hopkins, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction for the School District of Oconee County, will provide the welcome. The school district’s elementary music teachers will also be recognized. The public is invited to attend and support the school district’s fine arts programs. Admission is free.
