Check smoke alarms
Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 8th at 2:00 am.  Don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour to be sure you are on the correct time!  When it's time to change the clocks, it's also time to check your smoke alarms.  The IAFF (International Association of Fire Fighters) recommends using the change in time as a reminder to replace the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors throughout your home.  The National Fire Protection Association reports that 71% of smoke alarms which failed to operate had missing, disconnected or dead batteries.  They also say that having operational smoke detectors more than doubles the chances of surviving a house fire.
